Pop stars excited: 49th Rhön Wirtefest attracts thousands to Tann!
Last weekend, the Tanner market square was transformed into a mecca for Schlager fans and gourmets - the 49th Rhön Wirtefest brought thousands of visitors to the combination of tradition and joie de vivre. How Rhön Canal reported that people gathered on Saturday and Sunday to enjoy regional delicacies, handicrafts and a convivial atmosphere.
The mood was already heated from Friday evening: The Lahrbach Music Association opened the festival with a concert, followed by a spectacular laser show that lit up the Rhön museum village. The highlight of the festival didn't take long to arrive, as the popular pop stars Alexandra Hofmann and Stefan Mross heated up the crowd on Saturday evening. The event was moderated by Andreas Heß, while Otto Adelmann ensured a good mood from 2 p.m.
A feast for the senses
On Saturday from 11 a.m., visitors were able to explore the diverse stands and inns with classic Rhön cuisine. There was a wide range of dishes that would make every gourmet's heart beat faster. The event not only offers culinary delights, but also a craft market, which shone in all its glory on Sunday.
During the parade on Sunday, which moved through the city center with lots of music and over 10,000 expected visitors, the guests were able to enjoy the warm atmosphere and the committed performances of the regional clubs and music and dance groups. The supporting program was colorful and varied with performances by the Tann music corps and the Hilders traditional band.
Looking into the future
The Rhön Wirtefest will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, and there is great anticipation. From September 11th to 13th, 2026, Tann will once again host a colorful festival that upholds tradition and at the same time offers modern entertainment. The organizers, the trade and tourism association as well as the Tanner Innkeepers' Association, have a good knack for events that attract the entire region.
But apart from Tann, the world of hit festivals offers many other highlights. Festival alert shows an overview of Schlager festivals in Germany and beyond. This makes it clear that the love of music does not stop at borders. With festivals that extend from Hamburg to Lower Saxony, the anticipation for 2026 will certainly not be the last.
In summary, the 49th Rhön Wirtefest was a complete success and visitors can already look forward to many more jubilant years.
