New dermatologist practice in Elxleben: supply gap closed!

in Elxleben, a small town in the Sömmerda district, the outpatient medical care foundation has opened a new dermatologist practice. This initiative aims to close an urgent dermatological supply gap in the region, as welt.de. Annette Rommel, the first chairman of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) Thuringia, noted that 1.5 dermatology seats have recently been vacant - a state that is now being remedied by the practical line -up with two doctors.

The dermatologist Uta Zell already took up her work in the new facility in mid -June and will be supported in October by dermatologist Julia Blumenstunge. These new occupations are particularly important because there is an acute need for dermatological treatments. Dermatological care includes different areas. These include, among other things, the general dermatology, skin cancer screening and the treatment of venereal diseases, such as ortsdienst.de.

The benefits of these practices

The foundation, which now runs nine practices in the Free State of Thuringia, has set itself the goal of improving the availability of doctors, particularly in rural regions. Therefore, a total of 19 practices have been opened since its foundation in 2009. This is mainly done by hiring the doctors, which saves them the financial risk of starting a business and enables them to learn the practical management under guidance for the time being.

In Thuringia, around 4,300 resident doctors are currently fighting against a shortage of doctors, especially in rural areas. This is reinforced by the fact that many doctors retire and are often difficult to find. It is therefore gratifying that the foundation's practice acts as a kind of "branch school" that not only offers young doctors a job, but also conveys valuable practical management skills.

Current challenges of medical care

The doctor and health sector faces several challenges in Thuringia. KVT boss Rommel has pointed out various problems, including an exuberant bureaucracy and the lack of digitization that burden many doctors. Young doctors also often have difficulty finding themselves financially, as this is not taken into account in the training program. According to MDR, funding programs are also available for new practical foundations in under-provision, but are not sufficient to meet the need.

Another important offer are the programs such as the "branching school", which is intended to prepare prospective doctors for the takeover of practices. This support is necessary in order to not only increase the number of practitioning doctors, but also to ensure the best possible medical care for the patient in the region.

With the opening of this dermatologist practice in Elxleben, an important step is taken to counteract medical undersupply and to improve health care in the region.
