New location for child and youth protection services in Sonneberg!
With a fresh change of location, the child and youth protection service “Tauzeit” in Sonneberg is starting a new phase on July 1, 2025. The service, which has been active in the district since 2007, is moving from Gleisdammstrasse 3 to Gustav-König-Strasse 33. This is a big step that is intended to improve not only accessibility but also modular offerings for children and young people who suffer from physical or sexual violence. In southern Thuringia reports that the new location is particularly centrally located, which enormously improves connections for families and cooperation partners.
“Tauzeit” not only offers help for those affected, but also organizes prevention days in schools and kindergartens. These initiatives are intended to draw attention to grievances at an early stage and give young people a voice. In the new space, additional group offers and projects will be implemented that focus on the protection and well-being of children and young people.
Growing demands in child protection
The decision to move to Sonneberg was no coincidence. The new location is intended to meet the growing requirements and the need for modern consultation and meeting rooms. The new atmosphere will make it possible to create a trusting environment in which young people can speak openly about their experiences. The proximity to authorities and specialist departments also promotes interdisciplinary cooperation in child protection, which is extremely important. “Tauzeit” remains a reliable contact for all questions relating to child protection and threats to children’s well-being.
But the move is only part of a bigger picture. As on the website of the Sonneberg district can be read, the youth welfare office is the local provider of public youth welfare and is responsible for the positive development of young people. The support aims to improve living conditions for families and to provide high-quality youth welfare services.
Variety of offers for young people
The youth welfare office is involved in many areas, from child day care to youth social work. The protection of children and young people plays a key role. The tasks include, among other things, school social work and measures to promote youth. An overview of the many offers that benefit the district's young residents can be found in the family brochure and the youth welfare office flyer.
In this dynamic landscape, Child and Youth Protective Services contact information remains unchanged. The new premises at Gustav-König-Straße 33 will be available from July 1st. If you have any further questions, please contact the team on (03675) 42 64 96 or by email kjsd-sonneberg@twsd.de available. The service can also be accessed online via the website trägerwerk-thüringen.de.
The integrated approaches to child protection and the creation of new offers show that the Sonneberg district does everything it can to put the well-being of children and young people at the center of its work.
