Hospice group Suhl: New support for the dying and relatives!
Suhl, Deutschland - In a moving moment, the presented today in the social committee. The hospice group offers valuable accompaniment for terminally ill, dying people and their relatives, whereby new advisory services have only been available for a few months.
The challenge of the end of life not only brings with them personal concern for many people, but also the need to know professional support at their side. The AWO Hospizgruppe Suhl has been training volunteer and mourning companions since 2021 in order to meet these needs. Interested parties can look forward to a new course, which starts on April 6, 2021 after you have previously had the opportunity to have introductory talks with the full -time coordinators Ines Ansorg and Britta Schlütter.

Through the training, participants should develop a deep understanding of the topics, death and grief. Those responsible attach great importance to skills such as listening and empathic action. The requirements for those interested are clear: they should have good empathy and be ready to deal with their own mortality. The training includes a basic course, an internship and an advanced course, so that the prospective companions are well prepared for their responsible task.
"In accompaniment at the end of life, it is important to create space for individual needs and donate comfort," explains a coordinator. This type of support is not only aimed at the dying, but is also indispensable for relatives who often need advice and relief. hospice services also offer supervisions to support the volunteers during their efforts.
