On Sunday, November 10th, 2025, a very special family day took place at the AWG Tierpark. Almost 300 guests came to admire the animals and spend a great day outdoors. Entry was free, which allowed many people to take this excursion without having to worry about the cost. Loud in southern Thuringia Marketing manager Julia Holtmann explained that some visitors had not previously been to the zoo for financial reasons or simply because they had forgotten. A special contract between the AWG and the city of Cologne made this free entry possible.
