Gehlberg, Deutschland - On July 2, 2025, it is again called "all into the running shoes"! The traditional Schneekopflauf This year takes place for the 22nd time. Despite the heat wave, numerous running enthusiasts are expected at the upcoming event. The trend looks fascinating: While around 550 participants were at the start last year, the number of registrations for 2025 rose.

nonetheless, for the route in the finish area at almost 1000 meters, there is no closed blanket in sight. The mountain running event has contributed a lot to the start time to the morning. The decision was made for a good reason: the health risks due to high afternoon temperatures are to be minimized. There is something and a fresh start makes the run safer and more pleasant!

If you want to join the exciting competition, you could register between December 1, 2024 and June 25, 2025. But don't panic! There was also a post -registration phase to this day, and even the possibility to register on July 4 and 5, 2025, during the start number edition. But how much does the fun cost? The conditions of participation are clear: If you want to take part in the shorter routes, you should be born in 2009 or older, and the longer distances in 2007 is considered a minimum age. A safe run is a good run. It is therefore recommended for the snow head run to fill out the health questionnaire developed by the Humboldt University in Berlin. In this way, possible health risks are estimated. A medical consultation is advised if necessary. This is part of a comprehensive approach that the German Athletics Association (DLV) has initiated in order to raise awareness of health care among runners. The questionnaire corresponds to the "guidelines for preventive examination in sport", which the German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention has determined. A clever step for a safe challenge!
