Suhl celebrates summer: Solstice festival planned on the Lautenberg!
There's a lot going on in Suhl! The Winter and Summer Sports Club Suhl 1990 (WSSV) is in full swing with preparations for the traditional summer solstice festival on its club premises on the Lautenberg. Club boss Guido Ritschel says that the festival is not only a nice opportunity for the community, but is also a highlight in the club's calendar. The anticipation is palpable, because the days are getting shorter again and the festival is a fitting farewell to summer. InSouth Thuringia reports that the firewood for the large solstice fire was actively fetched from the forest with the support of the building contractor Frank Widder. The wood has been expertly stacked and cut to ensure the fire is a real eye-catcher.
The WSSV was founded in 1990, which makes it relatively young compared to other traditional winter sports clubs in Thuringia. The club was created in the wake of the reunification of Germany from a founding initiative by sports enthusiasts from Suhl. Among the founders, all of whom were experienced winter athletes and sports professionals at the Oberhof winter sports performance center, there are names such as Hermann Klett, Ralf Czarlinski, and Werner Seemann. With a lot of enthusiasm and passion, they have laid the foundations for the sporting future in the region. In this way, the club brings together future top sporting performers under its roof. Those interested can find more information on the association's website: WSSV.
A place for communal celebrations
The WSSV clubhouse is also located on the Lautenberg, at Max-Reger Str. 0, and functions not only as a place for sporting activities, but also as a community center for numerous events. The summer solstice festival is particularly popular and attracts not only club members but also numerous guests. It's always a good opportunity to chat and socialize. Another highlight is the large solstice fire, which blazes colorfully into the evening sky and creates a magical atmosphere with its flames.
This year, the WSSV is once again showing that the club has a good knack for organization and community spirit. Preparations are in full swing and it will be exciting to see how the festival on Lautenberg will shine in the glow of the solstice fire.
