Climate change and extreme weather

Extreme weather events such as heavy rain, drought and thunderstorms are increasing, and the connection between these weather conditions and climate change is becoming increasingly clear. The DWD predicts that the frequency and intensity of such weather phenomena will continue to increase in the future. Loud ARD Alpha Around 70 percent of the extreme weather events examined have become more likely or more severe due to climate change.
With a temperature increase of 1.7 degrees Celsius since 1881, the effects are already noticeable. Higher temperatures lead to more water absorption in the air, which in turn can result in heavy rainfall. The coming days could bring not only warmth, but also challenging weather conditions that could remain in our memories.
