Left-wing extremist attacks on CDU offices: Fight for democracy sparked!
in Bad Salzungen, not far from Cologne, the CDU constituency offices have become the goal of an inappropriate color attack. Eggs were often thrown against the windows, especially on the posters of MPs Christian Hirte and Martin Henkel. Last weekend it even happened that the CDU logo was painted over with a swastika. Such attacks correspond to typical left-wing extremist action patterns, such as Eisenachonline.de reports.
The police in Eisenach has informed the CDU Wartburg district of nationwide mobilization in the left scene, which became known in connection with the detention of the left -wing extremist Simeon T. Planned actions against MPs have been announced on social networks for the period from July 1 to 3, 2025, also in Thuringia. The police expect disturbances and targeted “visits” of these offices, but no concrete calls for violence. In response to these incidents, the security measures were increased immediately.
political reactions
The affected MPs cannot be intimidated by such attacks. Martin Henkel, himself a member of the state parliament, expressed that attacks on democratic institutions expose the true opponents of the community. Christian Hirte, Member of the Bundestag, also spells the attacks and emphasizes that democracy lives from the dispute and not of intimidation. Jörg Schiemann, the CDU district manager, is concerned about the incidents and underlines the clear rejection of extremism in any form.
The CDU Wartburg district thanks the police for early information and quick response to the attacks. The immediate removal of the anti -constitutional symbol was particularly important.
The fight against extremism
The incidents in Bad Salzungen are not isolated. According to [cducsu.de] (https://www.cducsu.de/presse/pressemitteilungen/democracy against-jede-form-des-extremism-defender) there is a worrying increase in violent right and left-wing extremist scene. The interior minister is called to devote herself to the fight against violent left -wing extremists and Islamists. Mainly left -wing extremist violence against police officers, but also attacks on important infrastructures are a danger to the broad population.
Additional information from the Constitutional Protection show that the left-wing extremist personal potential in 2024 is 38,000 people. Of these, 11,200 are classified as violent. In 2024, 5,857 left -wing extremist motivated crimes were registered, an increase of 37.9 % compared to the previous year. The most common crimes are property damage, which underlines the explosiveness of the topic.
The security situation in North Rhine-Westphalia remains tense, as can also be seen in the current figures. A total of 1,180 left -wing extremist crimes were recorded here in 2024, which is a significant increase. Therefore, it is more important than ever to proceed against extremism in order to maintain democratic values and respectful political exchange.
