THSV Eisenach: Young people fight with challenges despite success!

The THSV Eisenach celebrated success in the current season of the 1st Bundesliga, but the young teams remained behind the expectations. Reason enough for the general meeting of the association, which recently took place. In addition to in-depth reports, there was also an emotional review, in particular to the late members Ingo Hofmann, Bernhard Abel and Fritz Walther, such as THSV Eisenach reported.

District Administrator Michael Brodführer described the association as the “lighthouse of integration” and congratulated the 2nd men's team on the championship. In addition, the O 1 project, which deals with the modernization of the Wartburg Arena, is supported by the city. Jonny Kraft reported on the construction of the new arena, which is associated with the dismantling in O 1.

successes in the youth area

There are still positive things to report: The youth teams of the THSV Eisenach are allowed to celebrate three national championship titles this year. Both the C and the B and A youth triumphed in their classes. The THSV Eisenach thus demonstrated a great feeling for young talent. These services were duly appreciated in the home game of the second Bundesliga against the Wolves of Würzburg, where the master cups and medals were presented in front of over 2,000 spectators, such as Eisenachonline reported.

With the A-youth, which is preparing for the qualification for the youth league, and the B-youth, which is facing the Regionalliga Northeast, are already at the corner. News from young talent: Mark Dragunski will take over the rudder as a new young coordinator from July 1st, 2025 to cope with the structural challenges in the offspring.

social responsibility and integration

The social aspects in handball are not to be neglected. Handball has long since taken on a pioneering role in social projects and education initiatives, as described on Handball100 . The integration of different people is promoted by the sport, and especially youth work plays a central role here. The handball club is working on conveying values such as fairness and team spirit, and assumes responsibility for social developments.

The persistent problems, such as personnel instability among trainers and the inadequate hall conditions in the youth area, were discussed in detail in the general assembly. E-youth currently has no training, which illustrates the need for changes in trainer training. Nevertheless, the association is determined to overcome these obstacles and relies on support from the region and educational institutions.

The club management looks optimistic about the future. Despite the challenges, the THSV Eisenach has established itself as a fixture in handball and remains true to the values of integration and youth work.
