Wartburgkreis celebrates musical talents at the federal competition!
In Wuppertal, the musical elite of the youngsters gathered for the renowned national competition "Jugend musiziert". From June 17th to 19th, 2025, talented young musicians from all over Germany demonstrated their skills. The participants were also Jonathan Engel, a 14-year-old accordionist from Kieselbach. With his virtuoso game, he achieved a first prize- an outstanding performance that was also reflected in his score in the regional and state competition: 24 or 25 points. Known in the Wartburg district, Jonathan not only performed solo, but also in the group "Angel & Creek", and is taught by Beate Bach, who supports him on his musical path.unique double bass player
Alexej Pfeiffer, 16 years old and from Eisenach, was the only participant from Thuringia in the KONTABLE BASS Solo. He convinced with a strong performance and received 25 points in the regional competition and 24 points in the state competition. Alexej is also taught by Hans-Christian Bronisch, an experienced double bass player at the Gotha-Eisenach Thuringia-Philharmonic. He was accompanied to this competition by his mother Dina, who was at the same time his Carretist.
Both musicians represented Thuringia with a lot of commitment and diligence. Together they regularly compete with students from the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere in Weimar, which certainly contributes to strengthening their skills. The music school "Johann Sebastian Bach" Wartburgkreis paid tribute to the successes of its protégés and their teachers and congratulated them warmly.
The federal competition in numbers
The federal competition itself is an impressive event. According to youth music, over 1,800 young musicians from all over Germany and 19 German schools performed abroad. This talented community not only used the platform for the competition, but also for the exchange in detailed consultations with jurors.
- At this year's competition, a total of 1157 ratings were achieved.
- The participating categories range from solo performances in various instruments such as violin, violin and singing to ensembles that range from duos to chamber music.
An additional supporting program that included encounters and musical training caused a very special atmosphere. A festival concert and the transfer of award winners: Inner concerts in the WDR3 radio rounded off the experience.
