Weimar talent rock the German orchestra competition in Wiesbaden!

Weimar, Deutschland - in Weimar there is reason to be happy: The music school "Johann Nepomuk Hummel" impressively showed what musical talent is in the young people. At the German orchestra competition in Wiesbaden, 55 talented children and young people, to prove their skills. The Elephant Band and the Freebirds Big Band, who were able to assert themselves among the 98 nominated sound bodies from all over Germany, were there.

The Freebirds Big Band returned with a great appearance and was honored with a concert price, which resulted in an invitation to the Eldena Jazz Evenings in Greifswald in 2026. At a award -winning concert, 26 award winners were honored for their outstanding achievements in solo and chamber music contributions. The support association of the music school, on the other hand, did not take back and supported the event with music vouchers and ice vouchers for the bands.

But that's not all: On June 29th and 30th, the Weimar Staatskapelle will perform two grandiose concerts with Gustav Mahler's “Resurrection Symphony” in the Weimarhalle. The soprano Darija Auguštan and the mezzo-soprano Annika Schlicht are on stage together with the MDR radio choir Leipzig, who is involved in the event with 73 singers. Conductor Ivan Repušić ensures that the performance becomes an experience.

Intensive musical days are also imminent in the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere. On June 27th and 28th there is a top -class musical competition, in which 24 students will take part. Under the guards of a jury of external experts, prize money of a total of 1,500 euros is distributed.

Kirmes and other events

The region looks at an exciting weekend: in Schoppendorf, the fun fair celebrates its 30th anniversary from June 27th to 29th. The fun fair in Heichelheim starts on June 27th with a solemn service, followed by a move and plenty of party mood. And in Utzberg, the fun fair will also be opened on June 27 with a funfair disco, followed by dance and morning pint.

For those who want to take it easy, a memorial concert in Mechelroda was recommended on June 28th. Here the musicians A. W. Gottschalg commemorate with a concert in which Matthias von Hintzenstern and brother Michael will take part.

All in all, Weimar and his surroundings stand in front of a series of exciting events and musical highlights that bring the community together and provide happy moments. The anticipation for the German Orchestra competition , which will only take place in June 2025, could hardly be greater. Around 4,000 musicians will participate in the event, which will take place in Wiesbaden, Mainz and Ingelheim, and can look forward to the encounter and make music together.

These events once again show that the culture is very popular in the region and that the commitment of schools and clubs is bearing fruits for musical education.
