Speed trap strikes: Police take over 3,000 speeders out of traffic in Halle!
The summer road conditions in Halle could not be safer, because the police in Halle (Saale) carried out the ROADPOL control week “Speed II” from August 4th to 10th, 2025. The main aim of this Europe-wide campaign was to increase road safety, as excessive speed is considered a decisive factor in serious road accidents. This reports Hall spectrum.
A total of 128 control locations were set up in Burgenlandkreis, Saalekreis, Mansfeld-Südharz and in the urban areas of Halle. Various police units were deployed, including the central traffic and highway service as well as local police stations. The results of the checks are shocking: out of almost 95,000 vehicles checked, over 4,000 speeding violations were registered.
Adventurous speeding violations
The serious speeding violations detected are particularly alarming. For example, a driver in Landsberg raced at 149 km/h on the B100, where only 70 km/h is allowed. A speedster also had a risky spin on the A38 at 205 km/h against a permitted speed of 120 km/h. Such violations not only pose a threat to road safety, but also make it clear how important controls are.
- Landsberg, B100: 149 km/h bei erlaubten 70 km/h
- Eisleben, B80: 161 km/h bei erlaubten 100 km/h
- Weißenfels, B91: 139 km/h bei erlaubten 100 km/h
- A38 bei Allstedt: 205 km/h bei erlaubten 120 km/h
- Halle, Böllberger Weg: 103 km/h bei erlaubten 50 km/h
The police urgently appeal to all road users to stick to the prescribed speed limits in order to avoid accidents. “Easy off the gas – for more safety on our roads!” is the motto that applies not only in Halle, but also in the entire Southeast Hesse region, where increased speed controls have also been carried out, such as Press portal reported.
Road safety background
The need for such measures is evidenced by the current traffic accident statistics provided by Destatis is provided. These statistics are crucial for obtaining comprehensive and reliable data on road safety. They not only show the structures and dependencies of traffic accidents, but also serve a variety of traffic monitoring measures.
ROAD SAFETY is therefore not just a task for the police, but for every individual. Safe driving is a community project in which everyone has to lend a hand. In this sense, it is to be hoped that the police's appeals and measures will be fruitful and that road users will remain vigilant.
