Roland Kaiser is coming to Frankfurt in 2026: The big open-air event!

Today, November 11th, 2025, there is exciting news from the German music scene. The popular pop star Roland Kaiser, one of Germany's most famous and successful artists, is preparing for his latest tour. This is entitled “THE OPEN AIRS!” and starts in 2026. The anticipation among the fans is already noticeable, because Kaiser's live shows are a real experience.

On June 12, 2026, the artist will perform at the Friendship Stadium in Frankfurt (Oder). Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 8:00 p.m. A special highlight after the concert is the after-show party, which runs until around 1 a.m. Kaiser has already completed 40 sold-out live shows in 2025 with an impressive 400,000 visitors. This year he was unable to surpass any other German live artist in terms of visitor numbers. The upcoming tour currently includes 18 dates, traversing the entire country from east to west and north to south.

Roland Hollywood and his story

An interesting aspect for music lovers is of course the name “Roland”. This goes back to Ikutaro Kakehashi, who founded Ace Electronic Industries in 1960. The Roland Corporation was founded in Osaka in 1972, shortly after it was founded. Kakehashi had no musical training, but aimed to appeal to amateurs and hobbyists. He placed particular emphasis on miniaturization, affordability and simplicity. The name “Roland” was chosen because it was easy to pronounce internationally.

Roland has developed numerous innovative products over the years, starting with the TR-77 Drum Machine. Starting in 1980, the legendary TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines changed the music scene and had a lasting influence on genres such as hip hop and dance music. Roland's role in the development of the MIDI standard is also notable - in the '80s, Kakehashi co-presented this important protocol with Dave Smith.

Innovation in focus – The TR-1000

Speaking of innovation: Roland's latest drum machine, the TR-1000, combines analog and digital technologies and is an exciting new release on the market. This machine offers, among other things, 16 analog circuits and a variety of digital sounds, making it a flexible tool for music creators. With a price of 2,700 US dollars, it is not one of the cheapest, but it has a variety of functions that will delight musicians.

The TR-1000 features a powerful sampler with 64GB of internal memory, diverse inputs and outputs, and an advanced sequencer. Although there are reports of synchronization issues with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and external clocks, the community is showing great interest in the possibilities this drum machine offers.

The mix of tradition and innovation that both Kaiser and the Roland Corporation embody underlines the vibrant and constantly evolving character of the German music scene. Whether on stage or in the studio – music lives and breathes with its artists and technologies.
