Serial attacks and burglaries shake Halle (Saale)!
Things are currently turbulent in Halle (Saale). On Friday evening, unknown perpetrators broke into an apartment on Georg-Cantor-Strasse and stole cash. The police secured evidence at the crime scene. Just a little later there was another break-in: from Friday to Saturday, criminals broke into a construction container on Polarisstrasse and stole valuable tools and cable technology. This resulted in significant material damage.
But that was just the beginning of an eventful weekend in the city. Of particular concern was an attack on the security staff of a club on the orphanage wall. Five men attacked two security employees here at around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. One of the employees was slightly injured and had to be treated in hospital. The background to the attack remains unclear for the time being.
Traffic accidents and their consequences
A traffic accident at Riebeckplatz on Saturday evening also caused a stir. At 8 p.m. there was a collision between two cars, fortunately those involved were uninjured. However, during a check it turned out that one of the vehicles was wanted. The police secured keys and registration certificates.
Another focus was on several drivers who were caught driving under the influence of alcohol. On Saturday morning in Nauendorf, the police checked a car driver with a blood alcohol level of 0.63. It was forbidden to continue driving, and he was lucky in misfortune, since a level of 0.3 per mille is considered to be unfit to drive, which, depending on the individual case, can be punished with a fine or imprisonment, as Bussgeldkatalog explains. Another driver in Klepzig was caught with 1.18 per mille on Sunday morning, while another in Landsberg even had 1.25 per mille on Saturday evening. These values lead to serious consequences, including the suspension of your driving license and, if necessary, a medical-psychological examination (MPU).
Curiosities and accidents in the city
Police were also called to several other incidents on Saturday, including a handbag robbery in Zeitz and an accident in Naumburg in which a moped driver was slightly injured. There was also a fire in Weißenfels when several chairs and a garbage can caught fire in front of an ice cream parlor, but no one was injured.
In addition, the investigators reported a break-in into a tool shed in Schiepzig, where, among other things, a brush cutter and a hedge trimmer were stolen. The long journey that criminals take here illustrates the audacity of their crimes.
This weekend the police in Halle (Saale) and the surrounding area have their hands full. The mix of burglaries, aggression and drunk driving shows once again how important preventative police work and informed citizens are to maintaining safety in our cities. In the case of alcohol-related traffic accidents, the penalty can be imposed quickly according to ADAC, although fines and a driving ban can be expected for as little as 0.5 per mille.
