Two serious traffic accidents on the A14 and A38: driver injured, truck flees!
Yesterday was a particularly turbulent day on the highways in Saxony-Anhalt, as several traffic accidents kept the police on tenterhooks. According to a report from the Saxony-Anhalt police authorities, there were reports of serious incidents on both the A14 and the A38, which not only resulted in property damage but also injuries.
The first accident occurred early in the morning around 8:00 a.m. on the hard shoulder of the A14 near Wettin-Löbejün. A Mercedes car stopped due to a technical defect in the engine. A few moments later, an arriving truck driver struck the parked vehicle and continued his journey without paying any attention to the accident. The police have already launched an investigation to identify the driver responsible for the property damage.
Accident on the A38
In the afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., there was another incident on the A38 towards Leipzig, very close to the Schafstädt junction. A Skoda car veered off the road to the right and ended up in a ditch. The vehicle first collided with a sign and then overturned before resting on its roof. The driver and a passenger suffered injuries and had to be taken to hospitals in Merseburg and Halle (Saale). The highway had to be closed for about an hour during the rescue efforts.
In addition, another incident became known in the evening at 6:30 p.m. in which a 47-year-old man was found in the Kabelsketal parking lot without a valid driver's license. During a traffic stop, the police discovered that the driver did not have the necessary driving license, which is why he was banned from driving. Here too, an investigation was initiated against him.
