U-railway chaos in Munich: derailment ensures replacement traffic!

München, Deutschland - In Munich, subway traffic is significantly impaired today. A subway derailed in the afternoon during shunting work at the Harra stop. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. when the train was at a low speed. Fortunately, there were no passengers in the vehicle at this point, and the driver was unharmed. However, the tracks and the power rail suffered considerable damage, and the exact cause of the derailment still has to be determined.

Dergailing has far-reaching consequences for the subway lines in the city. In particular, the U6 line is temporarily interrupted between the Partnachplatz and Implerstraße stops. According to PNP reports, passengers between these stations can use buses by buses. Likewise, the U6 only runs between Großhadern and Partnachplatz Clinic in the direction of Garching Research Center, while the other direction is only operated up to Implerstrasse. Depirtions from Implerstraße to Fürstenried West are also required. The Bus X30 can be used as an alternative connection from Brudermühlstraße.

Information on rail replacement traffic

The Munich Transport Society (MVG) immediately took measures due to the situation. Passengers are pointed out that delays and isolated failures can occur on the U3 line that currently run regularly. The traffic at the Harra stop will be particularly limited, which is expected to remain closed until Friday at 11 p.m.

The MVG pointed out that the U6 line is not only affected by derailment, but also affected by ongoing construction sites, which include the basic renovations and the repair of six switches in the area of Fröttmaning. This could lead to capacity bottlenecks, which is why the MVG warns for caution.

The incident once again shows the challenges in the Munich transport network. With a well-structured transport system, which includes underground, tram and city bus traffic, the MVG is responsible for effective mobility in the city. The Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) supports these efforts through the coordinated planning and implementation of local public transport.

Please note that all information about the location in Munich is continuously updated until the causes and repair measures are clarified. Further details can be found in current reports of the PNP , tz as well as the Stadt Munich
