Diversity of art
Berlin is a melting pot of art forms! Regardless of whether it is visual art, architecture or digital media, the city has something to offer for every taste. Hundreds of galleries present the latest trends and contemporary works in a wide variety of styles. Established artists such as Alicia Kwade and Ólafur Elíasson value the cultural metropolis as their place of residence and work and contribute to creative diversity. The Academy of Arts, founded in 1669, and the House of World Cultures are just two of the institutions that actively promote discourse and exchange in art. Visit Berlin highlights that the street art scene in the city also makes art easier for everyone to access.
After these first exhibitions, visitors can expect the show “Spring 25” at CCA Berlin on July 9th at 7 p.m., which shows innovative works by Joshua Tarelle Reid and his colleagues. And the very next day we continue in the Haus am Kleistpark with “BERLIN EINS – The Nineties” at 5 p.m., which allows a nostalgic look back at an exciting decade in the capital.
A festival for the senses
On July 11th, the Sonic Pluriverse Festival at HKW will be used as an opportunity to celebrate the city's bass cultures. Artists from the sound system culture bring hot-blooded beats to life and show how diverse Berlin's sound landscape is. Things will get exciting for night owls with the sound artist Darla Quintana on July 12th at 11:30 p.m. in the Radialsystem, where her project ALMA will take the audience into other worlds of sound.
The art week concludes on July 13th at 3 p.m. with the exhibition “The Nothing Between Things” in the project space KIMGO. With artists like Herta Mueller and Javis Lauva, visitors explore questions about existence and what happens between things.
In addition, the Gegen & Lücke gallery opened on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin-Mitte on March 7, 2025. This gallery aims to promote young talent and expand the city's cultural diversity.
