Bundesbückpunkt Berlin: Construction planning submitted on time!

On July 15, 2025, significant progress in the area of sustainable construction and infrastructure were announced in Berlin. The Landesruderverband Berlin (LRV) submitted the construction planning documents for the new building at the federal base on July 14th. As reported by [rudern.de] (https://www.rudern.de/news/fristgerechte-behmung-der-bauflagen-fuer-en--en--am-Bundes- und), the submission to the Federal Office for Building and spatial planning (BBR) fell on time. LRV President Thomas Haun was relieved and proud of this successful step. In close cooperation with various institutions, including the German Rowing Association (DRV) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), the necessary documents were compiled in three DIN A4 folders.

Haun emphasized the excellent cooperation with the Senate Department for Interior and Sport and spoke of the emotional and organizational challenge associated with the creation of the documents. The LRV plans to expand the federal base in Berlin to a world level and hopes that the documents meet the requirements in order to enable a smooth test without negative notes.

new home for the BUND

But not only in the area of rowing is progressing: On October 6, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new federal office of the BUND (BUND for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany) was set. This office will not only offer office space, but also serve as a common good meeting, according to BUND.NET. Association Council Chairman Sylvia Pilarsky-Grosch and Federal Chairman Olaf Bandt emphasized the importance of this place for the visibility of the federal government in the capital. Instead of using an existing building that did not meet, it was decided to tear down a former warehouse and to create space for the new building.

The plans stipulate that the new building is energy-neutral and is built according to a passive house standard. Sustainable measures such as strong insulation, photovoltaic systems and geothermal energy for heating supply are particularly noteworthy. An important aspect of the project is the financial independence of rising office rents. The financing takes place from its own resources and with the support of the association and third parties.

sustainable living in Berlin

In Berlin, there is also a trend towards sustainable residential projects. More and more construction projects are relying on environmentally friendly concepts that are presented in the [development city] (https:// development city.de/gruen-zial-innovativ-10-nachtigigen-wohnprojekt-in-berlin/). In 2025, ten innovative residential projects are to be realized, which are characterized by energy -efficient new buildings, green roofs and innovative timber construction. Each project contributes to the creation of living space and at the same time to reduce ecological footprint.

An example is the new building in the Barnimkiez, which includes 33 barrier -free apartments and provides for rental prices from 7 euros per square meter. Various environmentally friendly construction projects are also implemented in other parts of the city, such as in Neukölln and Treptow-Köpenick, which create both social living space and open spaces for the community.

So a lot happens in Berlin: Whether in sports, environmental policy or in living space policy - the city shows how to deal with the infrastructure of tomorrow. The developments not only promise better cooperation, but also a bit of a good hand for the upcoming challenges in urban life.
