A festival of freedom: Berlin is not Salzburg starts soon!

Finally, on July 12, 2025, the highly expected music and theater festival "Berlin is not Salzburg" begins in the former Stasi headquarters. In the middle of the historical backdrop, a colorful program will be offered from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., which includes both music acts and free representing arts. Organized by the Federal Archives and the Stasi Document Archive Berlin-Lichtenberg, admission is free for all visitors. This creates an inclusive atmosphere that is aimed at everyone - regardless of previous knowledge or social position. This makes culture experienced for everyone, and this is a good reason to celebrate!

The festival runs from July 11th to 13th, 2025, with the first events take place today. In particular, the reworking of Mozart's "Secret Service Opera" and the "Magic Flute" are expected with great curiosity. This critical examination of art and society promises to encourage visitors to think and to enter a dialogue about the current art business.

Various program with free tours

For everyone who wants to learn more about the background, there is the possibility to take part in free express tours for the exhibition "Insight-Ins secret". These take place on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each tour takes around 30 minutes and offers exciting insights into the history of the place and its use. The entire festival is flanked by an attractive ticket offer. Day tickets are available from € 25, with discounted tariffs and special prices for people with disabilities. A festival ticket that offers access to all events costs 30 €. If you come to the box office on Saturday at short notice, you have to expect a surcharge of € 5. Children up to the age of 14, on the other hand, have free admission, which offers families an inexpensive opportunity to enjoy cultural experiences together. And best of all: the pre -sale for day tickets closes just 30 minutes before the start of the entrance, so that people who have decided to spontaneously can still strike!
