Train chaos between Bernau and Angermünde: replacement buses from November 14th!

Travel planning for many commuters and travelers could become a little more complicated in the coming days. From November 14th to 22nd, 2025, there will be extensive restrictions on the RE3 and RB24 railway lines due to urgent construction work between Bernau and Angermünde. The railway has announced that trains will have to be replaced on large sections by buses in rail replacement transport (SEV). This information was provided by Barnim published and also concerns the connections between Eberswalde and Bernau.

This can be a real nuisance, especially for those who regularly use the train. It is recommended to find out about the changed travel times before starting your journey and to allow enough time for the journey. November 21st will be particularly affected, as several RE3 trains will be canceled on that day. Specifically, this concerns the RE 3 (3316) trains from Bernau to Prenzlau, as well as the RE 3 (3318 and 3322) to Pasewalk, which have no direct connection towards Stralsund. These changes were also made by Britz-Chorin-Oderberg confirmed.

Details about replacement transport

On the days mentioned, a comprehensive replacement bus service will be set up, running in particular between Pasewalk and Berlin Gesundbrunnen. But passengers also have to change to buses between Eberswalde main station and Biesenthal, as the RB24 trains are also canceled here. It is important to note that the stops for replacement services are not always located directly at the train stations, which may mean additional detours.

Marginal information

The construction work that leads to these restrictions serves to replace switches and other maintenance measures. Such work is necessary to ensure safe and punctual rail traffic in the long term. The affected lines, however, are under close observation as they are of central importance for commuters in the region. Travelers should therefore prepare well and take the changes into their plans to avoid possible inconveniences.
