Art and work: New exhibition opens in the Eberswalde Thinkfarm!

The Thinkfarm in Eberswalde opened its doors to art on Thursday last week. As part of a charming opening ceremony, twelve impressive works from the collection were presented DKB Foundation for social commitment presented. The event attracted numerous art enthusiasts who were able to experience the new gallery concept up close.

But what is behind this creative project? The exhibition is the result of a collaboration between Think farm, the Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg (TMB) and the Tourismusverband Brandenburgische Seenplatte e. V. and WITO Barnim GmbH. The exciting theme of the project is “Workation” - a successful combination of work and vacation that makes modern forms of work visible to holiday guests and connects stakeholders with one another. Itta Olaj, the executive director of the tourism association, emphasized the importance of collaboration to fill the gallery with life and encourage the development of creative energy.

Art for the region

“Eberswalde currently only has a few spaces for art of this kind,” said Christian Bartsch from the DKB Foundation, who presented the works during the opening. The newly framed works of art now have a special effect in the bright and friendly rooms of the Thinkfarm. The exhibition will remain open for two years before fresh works enrich the ambience. Without requiring a coworking ticket, the exhibition is open to anyone interested. Anyone who would like to treat themselves to art with a mercury of creative news can contact the Thinkfarm reception directly.

Among the guests were representatives from the region, including Nicole Sachse-Handke from the Eberswalde Cultural Office and Ivonne Affeldt, who is in charge of the Eberswalde Family Garden. Steffen “Schortie” Scheumann, the husband of the artist Ina Abuschenko-Matwejewa, also insisted on attending the opening.

Social commitment

The DKB Foundation not only pursues artistic goals, but is also socially and ecologically committed. She is currently taking part in the “Brandenburg Works” competition, which honors companies that combine economic success with social responsibility. With an inclusive approach, the foundation employs around 30 people who work both with and without disabilities. Projects to make inclusion visible in everyday life are a central part of their mission.

The DKB Foundation also shows its colors when it comes to education: the latest programs offer children and young people the opportunity to explore nature and be creative. The first sustainability report shows a clear alignment with the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations as well as the focus on health, equality and sustainable action. The foundation's commitment extends to culture, monument protection and community, which is impressively demonstrated in the exhibition.

All in all, the new gallery in the Thinkfarm shows a good knack for networking and creative development. The Michurcher gatherings not only open up new perspectives for Eberswalde, but also significantly enrich the cultural life of the region.
