A look at Paul Wunderlich
Paul Wunderlich, born March 10, 1927 in Eberswalde, was a German painter, sculptor and graphic artist who is valued for his surrealistic and erotic works. In his work he often references mythological legends. After an eventful time as a flak helper and prisoner of war, he returned to the art world and studied at various renowned schools, including in Hamburg. His work has been in phases for years, with the 1960s being strongly influenced by Art Deco and Art Nouveau. Despite challenges and occasional conflicts with authorities because of his "too strange" art, Wunderlich left an impressive heir.
The tours in the Paul Wonderliche House are a great opportunity to get to know this extraordinary artist personality and his works better. Once again, it turns out that art is made not only for the eye, but also for the mind and stimulates thought.
