Youth Cup final: Zepernick triumphs in the heat in Eberswalde!
Last weekend the eagerly awaited youth cup finals took place at Eberswalder SC. In midsummer temperatures, spectators were able to watch exciting matches. This event was not only a highlight for the clubs, but also a real challenge for players, referees and spectators.
The sport came into its own in all its glory, and so the C-Juniors delivered the first big spectacle. There was a lot of excitement in the final between SV Biesenthal 90 and the Zepernick/Schwanebeck syndicate. At halftime, the Zepernickers led 2-1 and in the end they clearly won 5-1. The referees Milan Malios and his assistants Merlin Paul and Milan Kupfer had their hands full.
Exciting encounters between the B and A juniors
The B juniors from Schorfheide Joachimsthal also showed an impressive performance. In the final against Eintracht Bötzow, Joachimsthal was already 4-0 up at halftime and eventually extended this lead to 5-0. As with the C-Juniors, the referee Johannes Röttger and his assistants Finn Golling and Jonathan Reinecke were the focus of the action.
It was exciting until the end, when the A-Juniors made their appearance. In a thrilling duel, SpG Zepernick/Schwanebeck met FSV Fortuna Britz. At halftime it was already 1:1, but the Zepernickers were undeterred, increased it to 2:1 and were ultimately able to secure the victory with 3:1. Lennert Meintzen was responsible for directing the game, supported by Niklas Rieck and John Lewis Herschmann.
Thanks to everyone involved
The event was highly praised from all sides. The youth committee expressed its thanks to the referees, supervisors and Eberswalder SC, who took care of the organization and implementation of these cup finals. This made it clear once again how important the work of referees in the youth sector is. The referees not only have to be reliable, but also regularly referee games in order to attract positive attention. This is crucial for their promotion, as the DFB reports.
In high-class leagues, their performances are evaluated according to a standardized form that awards similar grades to those in regular games. The commitment within the referee group is of great importance, and feedback from clubs and other observers is also included in the evaluation.
