Wukensee Festival in Biesenthal: dragon boat races and fireworks await you!

The Wukensee Festival in Biesenthal opened its doors on Friday, July 11, 2025 and traditionally started with the student cup in the dragon boat race. The event attracts numerous visitors year after year and offers a colorful program for the whole family. On Friday morning, the festival was ceremoniously opened by Mayor Carsten Bruch and district director André Nedlin, followed by exciting competitions between students from the Biesenthal, Grüntal, Marienwerder elementary schools and the Biesenthal Nature School.

The students had the opportunity to compete in two heats and subsequent finals, and the awards ceremony took place around midday. Here the winners were chosen and received appropriate recognition for their efforts. On Saturday, the highlight of the festival, the official opening will begin at 9:00 a.m. Mayor Bruch will also extend a warm welcome here.

Games, fun and festive highlights

Saturday promises a varied program for all age groups. The dragon boat race begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by fun and games on the festival lawn from 11:00 a.m. Particularly exciting is the introductory diving, which is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The award ceremonies will take place at 6 p.m., followed by an evening event with a live band at 8 p.m. The magnificent fireworks display over Lake Wukensee will light up the night at 11 p.m.

Visitors can make their journey stress-free: A free shuttle service from the Wukensee lido is available on Saturday evenings between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. The entrance fee for the two days of the festival is just 5 euros, and children under 1.50 meters even enjoy free entry.

Practical information for visitors

The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday and all day on Saturday. The regular entrance fees for the lido apply on Friday afternoons. For families, the Biesenthal card for children is a real bargain on both days.
