Take part in the Brandenburg Reading Summer: Hundreds of new books are waiting!
The second Brandenburg Reading Summer is about to start in Brandenburg an der Havel, and there is once again a lot to discover for young bookworms. Elementary school students can now register for the event, which will run until September 8, 2025. The organization from the Rotary Club of Brandenburg an der Havel has donated hundreds of new books that are available in the Fouque library. Anyone who would like to take part has the opportunity to choose the best stories during the reading summer and get a personal reading logbook. That reports MeetingPoint Brandenburg.
What is the Reading Summer Challenge? Very easy! The kids can help themselves from a special summer reading shelf or the library's normal stock of books. For every book you read, you get a stamp in your reading log, and the more books you read, the more chances you have of winning great prizes in the raffle at the end of the summer campaign. When registering, each child receives two small surprises as well as a reading logbook in which the works they have read are recorded. Participants can collect a lot of stamps until the logbooks are handed in on September 8th.
At the end the big finale awaits
The highlight of the reading summer will be the finale on September 23rd at 4 p.m. In the festive atmosphere in the Roland Hall, not only certificates and prizes await the diligent readers, but also musical contributions from the Luckenberger School. The interactive reading is led by the popular authors Cally Stronk and Christian Friedrich, known from “The Three ???”. The final promises to be an exciting event and is an absolute must for all literature enthusiasts!
Participating in the reading summer is an excellent opportunity to promote the enjoyment of reading and to exchange ideas with your peers. The campaign is not only aimed at reading enthusiasts, but also involves the whole family. The nationwide commitment to promoting reading, such as through Bildungsserver, is of great importance. There are numerous initiatives and campaigns here that make reading exciting and entertaining for children.
The Fouque Library, centrally located at Old Town Market 8, will also be open for the upcoming reading summer activities. Further information can be obtained there or by telephone on (03381) 58 42 13. If you don't have your reading log together by then, you still have plenty of opportunity to get involved in the new adventures of literature!
