OFF ART Week 2025: Art from Brandenburg delights visitors in Brennabor!

On October 10th the time had finally come: OFF ART 2025 in the Kunsthalle Brennabor was officially opened. This creative platform, which was launched by Brandenburg artists in 1991, will take place this year from October 11th to 19th. The show, which was already a great success in 2023 with 107 participating artists and 220 exhibits, is now impressive with 104 artists and 210 works of art. City of Brandenburg reports that the opening was accompanied by music and aroused great interest.

OFF ART is characterized by a particularly pleasantly accessible concept: the exhibition is self-curated, which means that the participants install their works of art themselves. This year the event is part of the “OFF ART week 2025” and thus promotes visibility and creative work in the Brandenburg an der Havel region and beyond. The opening hours of the exhibition are daily from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the closing will be celebrated on October 19th with a community dismantling from 5:00 p.m. and there will be music again.

Insights into history and goals

The original idea for the exhibition goes back to 1991, when a group of artists from the region started this initiative. The very first OFF ART took place in the 'Philipp Müller' clubhouse in 1992. The aim is to offer local artists a platform to present their works and exchange ideas with each other. The Friends of the Kunsthalle Brennabor and the city of Brandenburg actively support the exhibition in order to ensure its revival and continued existence. Friends Kunsthalle Brennabor emphasizes that the exhibition represents an important opportunity for many creative minds.

Particularly noteworthy is the restriction to jury-free submissions, which puts the focus on the creativity and individuality of each participant. A maximum of two works per artist may be submitted, which underlines the diversity of the works of art presented. The work must be marked to a certain extent and hung up with tools, which requires active participation.

Supporting program and cultural significance

OFF ART is aimed not only at artists, but also at music and performing artists who can perform during opening hours. This helps to create a colorful and varied supporting program. The integration of a wide variety of creative expressions strengthens Brandenburg's cultural landscape and offers visitors a unique experience. The art scene in Brandenburg has become increasingly important in recent years and is reflected in a variety of projects that combine art and nature. Berlin loves art reports on over 200 art and cultural events that take place annually and highlights the role of artists as ambassadors for their region. Successful events like OFF ART help to make the region's creative potential visible and promote new talent.

So don't just be a spectator, but become part of this creative encounter at the Kunsthalle Brennabor and enjoy the variety of works of art and performances until October 19th!
