Public service training

Training to become an administrative assistant is considered crisis-proof and is one of the best-paid training courses in Germany. According to information from verwaltung-bildung.de, this profession is of great importance for the proper functioning of authorities, churches and associations. The training not only includes office and administrative work such as file management and application review, but also advising citizens.

Administrative assistants work in a variety of institutions. They can be found in town halls, universities, district offices and even private institutions. The training is dual, so that prospective specialists can gain both theoretical knowledge from vocational school and practical experience in the training company. School leavers have good chances because, as a rule, no specific school qualification is required; However, at least a secondary school leaving certificate is often required. Employers also value applicants with a high school diploma or high school diploma.

An exciting start to your career

The selection of new talent was by no means a coincidence. All trainees went through an extensive selection process that included a written aptitude test, group tasks and interviews. bildung.de emphasizes that such selection procedures usually take place a few months before the start of training and can include a mixture of theoretical and practical examination elements. The preparations usually begin long before the big day.

Another important point is the extensive opportunities for professional development after training. Graduates can pursue various positions in the public service, such as clerks in public offices or in the human resources department. The starting salary is around 2,600 euros gross per month, and further development within the professional field promises positive prospects.

Finally, Chairwoman of the Staff Council Claudia Sellin-Stieger sent useful wishes to the newcomers for their careers. The city administration sees itself well positioned to successfully train the 51 trainees and students in the class of 2025. Since 1991, the administration in Brandenburg an der Havel has been able to train a total of 468 people in various training occupations, of which 330 have been given permanent employment.
