Cottbus celebrates: 1st German-Polish citizens' festival with wine and culture!

Things will be really colorful in Cottbus from June 20th to 22nd, 2023, because the city is celebrating its first German-Polish citizens' festival. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the town twinning with Zielona Góra, also known as Chóśebuz, visitors can expect a festival full of wine, cuisine and cultural contributions from both cities. The official opening will take place on Friday, June 20th at 3 p.m. and the festival will remain open on all three days. The focus of the community festival is on the culinary delicacies of both countries, which invite you to feast. The wine tradition around Zielona Góra is also honored here, certainly a highlight for wine lovers. Visitors have the opportunity to borrow a special anniversary wine glass bearing the coats of arms of Cottbus and Zielona Góra as well as the “50 years” logo. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the wine is only served in this glass, which can be found in the fenced-in festival area.
