Trampoline World Cup: Cottbus takes synchronized mixed to the top!

The second Trampoline World Cup will take place on September 17th and 18th, 2025 in the Lausitz Arena in Cottbus. Over 60 athletes from 13 nations have come forward to compete in exciting competitions. [rbb24] reports that the event serves particularly as preparation for the World Trampoline Gymnastics Championships, which will be held in Pamplona in November 2025.

A highlight of this World Cup edition will be the premiere of the synchronous mixed competitions. This discipline not only demands high technical skills from the athletes, but also promotes teamwork and gender equality in sport. The German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) has put together a seven-person team, led by the talented Aileen Rößler. In addition to the German team, there are numerous other top athletes, including the German synchronous duo Caio Lauxtermann and Fabian Vogel, who are looking forward to the event.

New federal base and training conditions

Cottbus has set itself the goal of achieving the status of a federal base for trampoline gymnastics by the end of 2028; there are currently only three such bases in Germany: Frankfurt/Main, Bad Kreuznach and Stuttgart. In order to achieve this goal, the construction of a new trampoline training hall is planned, which should be completed by the end of 2026. Around 12 million euros will be invested in the project, which will be financed by the federal government and the state of Brandenburg.

The new training hall will be 15 meters high and offer modern training conditions, including energy-optimized technology and a video system for quick and effective training analysis. Around 35 athletes are currently training in Cottbus, supervised by an international team of trainers. The departure of former top athlete Caio Lauxtermann is perceived as a loss for the region, but the goal remains to gain an international foothold in trampoline gymnastics and to continue to host World Cups in the future.
