New 22.5 million euros for Lausitz: five projects strengthen social infrastructure

• New building Hort primary school in Finsterwalde: Due to the increased need for childcare, a new after -school care center is added to the existing primary school.
• Expansion of the "Lutki" daycare center in Jänschwalde: The existing daycare center is modernized and expanded here, since the new settlement of jobs in the Grail Jänschwalde industrial area creates additional need.
• new building and conversion to the after -school care center in Schlieben: An old building is being converted and a new daycare center is being built to meet the growth of childcare facilities, especially in connection with the expansion of the Bundeswehr site Fliegerhorst Holzdorf.
• Reuse Hub Kolkwitz: In Kolkwitz, an innovative multi-purpose building is being built, which is expanded in a resource-saving manner with plates from a former GDR house. This project is part of the "Horizon 2020 - Recreate" research project and is supported by the Brandenburg University of Cottbus - Senftenberg. The building is to fulfill social purposes and be used by associations, local councils and the disabled and rehabilitation sports association.

These initiatives help to increase the quality of life in the region, keep families and to win returnees. A hedge shooter is also created in terms of climate protection and lively community life, which is particularly visible through the innovative concept of the Reuse Hub. This project promotes the reuse of materials, which is not only sustainable, but also serves the development of a promising future -oriented habitat.
