Havelland Helfer: Commuter support started during railway renovation!

The railway line between Hamburg and Berlin has been undergoing extensive general renovation since August 1, 2025, which will last until April 30, 2026. During this time, commuters and travelers can rely on rail replacement transport (SEV), which is organized by Ecovista. With over 170 buses operating on 26 routes, a daily mileage of up to 86,000 kilometers is achieved. In particular, the main line X4, which runs from Wittenberge via Perleberg and Kyritz to Wustermark, is of central importance.

Particularly practical: The locations of the buses are designed so that there are short transfer times to the trains in Dallgow-Döberitz and Wustermark. There are also frequent services and central stops, which ensure that restrictions for passengers remain as low as possible. Finally, the Falkensee, Finkenkrug, Brieselang and Nauen regions also benefit from additional municipal bus services that supplement the replacement transport.

Havelland helpers support commuters

In order to help commuters during this change, the Havelland district launched the “Havelland Helpers” project on September 1st. The helpers are on duty at the Falkensee, Dallgow-Döberitz and Brieselang train stations during peak commuter times. Your tasks are varied: You show presence and keep an eye on the parking areas for bicycles and e-scooters.

This project not only provides support for the travelers but also creates job opportunities for people through the job center. The implementation takes place in cooperation with the employment promotion company Premnitz mbH, which helps to develop career prospects. However, the “Havelland Helpers” are not responsible for the safety of bicycles and e-scooters, which means that users must secure their vehicles on their own responsibility.

Current information on rail transport

It is advisable for all train travelers to keep up to date with the current status of rail traffic. The website bahn.de aktuell offers a central point of contact for information on train cancellations, delays and planned construction sites. Here you can also find real-time positions of trains as well as departure boards and the option to be informed about delays via push notifications. These helpful services are particularly important for keeping track of traffic during ongoing renovations.

The “Havelland Helfer” project not only signals a commitment to working together in Havelland, but also makes it possible to overcome the challenges of general renovation in a positive way. The close cooperation between the various actors shows that the region is well positioned to ultimately survive this period of restrictions together.
