On July 4, 2025, there were temporary problems in the power grid in Neulewin in the Märkisch-Oderland district, which could arise as part of planned maintenance work. The network operator E.DIS Netz GmbH informed that the maintenance work was carried out within a radius of around one kilometer around Neulewin, known by post at 16259, between 8:00 a.m. and probably 10:30 a.m. Despite these measures, the German power grid is considered fail-safe - in recent years, unplanned supply interruptions have averaged less than 13 minutes, as reported by news.de.

As current figures show, a total of 852 network operators reported 158,360 supply interruptions in low and medium voltage in 2023. Compared to the previous year, this number increased by around 1,115 reports. It is important to note that extreme weather events that are considered force majeure are not included in the SAIDI value.
