Yurt fun in Oranienburg: An Oktoberfest to celebrate and feast!

Last week Oranienburg experienced a very special event premiere with the “Jurtengaudi”, which took place from Thursday, October 9th to Sunday, October 12th. With about500 guestsIn the elegant, white marquee in front of the Turm-erlebnisCity, the organizers Robert Friedrichs and Enrico Kitschun brought the popular Oktoberfest atmosphere directly from Munich to the Oberhavel. The aim was to bring the exuberant celebration atmosphere and the tradition of Oktoberfest to Brandenburg, which of course gave the creators a good hand.

Despite the great atmosphere and the celebratory mood enjoyed by many dance enthusiasts, the event was not without its challenges. The guests sometimes had to wait over an hour for their beer, which raised some critical voices. Nevertheless, the overall mood remained positive, which was not least due to the creative program and the festive atmosphere. So the first “Yurtengaudi” event turned out to be an entertaining experience for the visitors.

A look outside the box: Oktoberfest in Munich

Fortunately, this year's Oktoberfest will not be without safety concerns:In 2024 there were 1,764 police operationsrecorded, with the most common crimes being bodily harm and pickpocketing. Although Oktoberfest enjoys a reputation as a drinking festival, the enjoyment of delicacies such as the popular “Brathendl” is also increasingly valued. Organizers report a 9 percent increase in food sales, which may be due to growing interest in family visits and vegan versions of dishes.

Mood, music and trends

According to recent reports, the general mood at the Oktoberfest was relaxed and positive, despite a slight decline in visitor numbers6.7 millionin 2024. Nevertheless, the atmosphere remained harmonious, and the international guests ensured that the variety of music selection mixed well-known sounds with new hits. However, a clear “Wiesn hit” could not be identified.

The “Jurtengaudi” in Oranienburg could jump on this trend wave of the Oktoberfest and make the anticipation of culinary specialties, good company and happy dancing the hallmark of the coming years. The next time the organizers invite people to the “Yurt Fun” the event could become even more important in the region.
