Last Saturday, September 21, 2025, the Ostalgietreffen in Germendorf attracted more than 4,000 visitors who wanted to admire the colorful and nostalgic vehicles from GDR times. Around 450 vintage cars, including popular classics such as the Trabi, Wartburg and B 1000, were on display at the festival site. Organized by the “Kultvogel Oberhavel” interest group in collaboration with the volunteer fire department and the FSV Germendorf, the event took place in front of the zoo grounds for the first time. The Kultvogel, an active club with around 30 members, collected numerous vintage cars from the former GDR in advance of the event. A celebration for the whole family
There was plenty of entertainment on offer: from child-friendly attractions such as jumping and a carousel to a Trabi-pulling competition - everyone got their money's worth here. The volunteer fire department was represented with a goulash cannon, while the Volkssolidarität offered freshly baked waffles. There were also dance events on the festival site from 5 p.m.
The event attracts classic car enthusiasts year after year and is constantly growing in popularity. This is also supported by the annual vintage vehicle meeting of the Obermützkower Freizeitverein, which has been taking place since 2007 and is actively attended by participants from the region, according to the club's website obermuetzkower-freizeitverein.de reveals.
The price for a ready-to-drive Trabi can be between 8,000 and 10,000 euros, reflecting current market conditions. The owners also include personalities such as Heino Sandig, who owns a B 1000 and a Trabi, as well as Sven Wolke, who is known for his vintage car collection and is planning to buy another Trabi from the 600 series.
The Ostalgietreffen in Germendorf has once again established itself as a real highlight in the event calendar and promises to remain a popular meeting place for classic car lovers and families in the coming years.
