Young enduro talents compete at the European Cup in Fürstenwalde!
In Fürstenwalde (Oder-Spree) there will be a sporting highlight for young motorcycle athletes from all over Europe this weekend. For the first time, the local motorsport club has the honor of hosting the final round of the Mini Enduro European Cup. More than 70 riders between the ages of 12 and 16 are expected to take on the challenging route.
Fürstenwalde is the venue for an exciting competition this year. From Friday to Sunday, the young sporting talents, including German champions Lenny Tiger Sabottke (14 years old) and Jordan Wittenberg (12 years old), will fight for the coveted points in the Mini Enduro Cup. Sabottke, as the reigning youth champion in 2024, trains regularly and is well prepared. Wittenberg, on the other hand, has set itself clear goals and is aiming for a place among the top ten drivers.
Race format and route
The participating drivers compete on an approximately 17 kilometer long lap, which they have to complete five times. In addition, three special tests will be carried out during the competition. The races start at 10 a.m. on both days. This exciting challenge takes place off-road, which is what makes enduro sport so unique. Enduro machines are not only robust, but also equipped with special features such as lighting and larger tanks.
The organizers, especially co-organizer René Korsus, emphasize how important this event is for the popularity of Fürstenwald. The young athletes are playfully introduced to a sport that requires not only physical fitness, but also team spirit and perseverance.
A springboard for young talents
The Mini Enduro Cup is not just a competition, but also an opportunity to take the next step in the careers of aspiring motorsport entrepreneurs. The cup will consist of three rounds in 2025, with the final in Fürstenwalde, which is seen as a springboard into the adult classes and the world championship. The first round took place in April in Isola, Italy and the second in July in Nagytarcsa, Hungary Enduro21 reports.
These events are not only exciting for the participants, but also for the spectators, who can experience the skills of the young talents up close. So nothing stands in the way of the weekend in Fürstenwalde to celebrate the young successors of the Enduo scene and honor their achievements.
A visit will definitely be worthwhile for motorsport enthusiasts and families - so let's go to Fürstenwalde!
