New Tante Enso store in Freyenstein: Citizens help shape it!

Something is happening in Freyenstein! The Tante Enso store on the market square is about to open, which is planned for the first quarter of 2026. Despite minor delays due to internal restructuring at MyEnso, the showroom is currently being brought into shape. The modern look with new ceiling lighting and an automatic entrance door promises an inviting shopping experience, it is reported maz-online.de.

So far there are still smaller jobs on the list such as the locking system, assembling the mailbox and electrical work. The Tante Enso store will not only be the second of its kind in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, but also an important contact point for the residents. The first opened in Wustrau-Altfriesack in August 2024.

Involvement of local residents

A core part of the project was the participation of local residents. In a survey, 124 citizens gave their opinion, particularly on outdoor advertising that is designed in wine red. The opening times were also discussed. The majority would like staff frequency on Fridays between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., while a day off on Monday needs to be economically examined.

“It’s nice that the community has a good hand in choosing the design and services,” says Annchen Fleger, the expansion manager of Tante-Enso and who already has the keys to the new property. The store will be accessible 24 hours a day with an access card and will offer around 3,000 items. The concept aims to support small towns that would otherwise be without supermarkets.

Challenges and future

Christa Ziegenbein, the local mayor, makes it clear that the construction of the Tante Enso store was not without challenges. But the long collaboration with MyEnso shows that they are pulling together to give Freyenstein a new grocery store. This type of business will allow the place to become more vibrant again and strengthen the sense of community.

Anticipation for the Auntie Enso store is growing and residents are excited to see what awaits them. A successful start is also an opportunity for the neighborhood to rediscover itself. Once the exact opening date is set, there will definitely be a lot of excitement in the community.

In today's fast-paced world, it is encouraging to see a community planning together and deciding what is important for their future. Stay tuned for more information about the opening!
