Rostock, Deutschland - On July 2, 2025, you can noticed in the sports world, because the North German Athletics Championships (U 20) in Rostock not only produced some excellent performance, but also put the talents of the region in the right light. The SC Potsdam reported by Daniel Riedner's impressive gold gain in the pole vault, where he sensationally mastered the height of 4.80 meters in the first attempt. This is a strong sign for the young athletes and shows what the offspring has to offer.

not only Riedner shone. Quentin Albers also showed his class in the javelin throw and landed at 61.23 meters, while Finn Bartel secured second place in the M1 15 pole vault. Bronze went to Lennart Giersch, who also triumphed at 3.70 meters. In the category of female participants, Josefin Fischer was able to look forward to the gold medal in the pole vault, where she also skipped 3.70 meters. Lucy Seifert demonstrated her skills over 300 meters and achieved third place.

Next challenges in Skopje and Rhein-Ruhr

An exciting appointment is just around the corner: From July 20th to 26th, the European Youth Olympic Festival (Eyof) will be held in Skopje (North Macedonia), in which around 4,000 athletes from 48 European countries will take part. There were also nominations for athletes from SC Potsdam: Cäcilia Weimann (800 meters) and Chiara Wildner (discus throw) were selected by the DOSB for participation.

The FISU World University Games will take place in the Rhein-Ruhr region at the same time, from 16 to 27 July. This event, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2022 and was known under the previous name Universiade, is getting bigger. fisu declares that the participation of 43 countries in Turin 1959 on the full of 109 countries in Naples 2019 grew. Lena Sonntag (go, University of Potsdam) and Magarita Kolosov (rhythmic gymnastics, University of Stuttgart) will also do their best.
