Laura Lindner remains loyal to Turbine Potsdam – a sign of strength!
The fans of 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam can breathe a sigh of relief: Laura Lindner will remain part of the first team squad in the coming 2025/26 season. The club announced this today. The 23-year-old, who has played for the club for over a decade, is a key pillar in the team and brings a wealth of experience and leadership that is invaluable to the young squad. Managing director Stephan Schmidt spoke full of praise for Lindner's role and emphasized how important her identification with the club is. “Laura is an absolute role model for our young players,” said Schmidt.
The native of Cottbus came to Potsdam in 2007 as a young talent and has already celebrated some successes. During her time with the B juniors, she won the German championship in 2010 and 2011. With the second team she was also champion of the 2nd Bundesliga North twice. In 2015 she finally made it to the Bundesliga, where she has scored 13 goals in 74 games so far. Her talent and perseverance are remarkable, especially considering that she suffered a serious left knee injury in 2010, but that did not stop her from advancing her career.
A player with heart and mind
Lindner, who started playing soccer at the age of 8 and joined the youth department of Turbine Potsdam at the age of 13, has not only developed as a player but also as a person. Her structured daily routine, which combines training and teaching, shows her commitment. She has completed secondary school and plans to take her final exams at the end of March. “I have a good knack for balancing school and football,” she says with a smile.
Last season, Lindner was crucial for her team on several occasions and scored two goals in 18 minutes on her Bundesliga debut. This achievement was no coincidence, but the result of hard work and tireless training. According to statistics from the Women's Bundesliga, Turbine Potsdam is one of the clubs fighting for the top places, with Freiburg, Bayern and Wolfsburg being the strongest opponents.
As the entire team prepares for the new season and aims for a place in the league's top three, Lindner's commitment is a shining example of the club's future. “I feel at home here and will do everything to ensure that we are successful together,” the player concluded. It remains to be seen how she and her teammates will shape the coming year.
