Music Festival in Potsdam: Children experience sound adventures in the park!

The Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival is in full swing and not only provides impressive sounds, but also lots of fun for the youngest. A very special program for children took place on the opening weekend. On Sunday afternoon, three groups of children aged four and over were allowed to go on an exciting park walk in Babelsberg Park, where they collected “sounding souvenirs” and joyfully chanted: “I want to go travelling, see the world!”, like that Daily Mirror reported.

The event, organized by Ensemble Almanach under the title “A Musical Family Diary,” is just one of three family-friendly offerings in the festival’s main program. On June 22nd we continue with the popular bicycle concerts, which are not curated by Andrea Palent this year. The ten kilometer long route is already completely booked.

A look at exciting workshops

A highlight for older young people aged 15 and over is the week-long “SanssouciReporter” workshop, which begins on June 17th. Here, students can explore documentation projects ranging from historical performances to composition exercises. Participants have the opportunity to write for an online magazine, create podcasts or conduct interviews with artists. This high-quality content will be on musikfestspiele-potsdam.de published and provide exciting insights into the world of music.

The kick-off workshop on Tuesday, June 17th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. also offers the opportunity to form an editorial team and attend a lunch concert. During the workshop week, which lasts until June 22nd, entry to selected concerts and rehearsals is free for participants. The initiators are particularly motivated because the workshops also offer a certificate and, optionally, a letter for an exemption from school.
