New parking permit fees in Potsdam: What you need to know!
Potsdam is facing changes to resident parking permit fees that will come into effect on September 1, 2025. The new regulation brings an increase in the annual fee to 145 euros, while a two-year ID card is available for 275 euros. This fee adjustment aims to fully cover the administrative costs, control and space provision for resident parking, as Tagesspiegel reports.
Another point that will interest residents is the cost of issuing a replacement if the license plate is changed or the ID card is lost, which is 25 euros. The city council had already decided on the new fee schedule on July 2, 2025, and publication in the official gazette was scheduled for today, August 26, 2025.
Details on the application process
The application process for a resident parking permit remains unchanged. Interested citizens can submit their application conveniently online at egov.potsdam.de/apa or you can use the option to do this by email, post or directly at an appointment at the citizen service center. To avoid long waiting times, we recommend booking an appointment in advance.
The opening times of the counters in the citizen service center are also important. With an appointment, citizens can access the services from Monday to Friday and for a few hours on Saturdays. Without an appointment, an additional offer is available in the Wilhelmgalerie, where, however, only card payments are accepted and some services are not offered, such as issuing documents or motor vehicle matters serviceportal.dikom-bb.de.
Opening hours in the citizen service
The opening hours of the counters in the citizen service center with an appointment are:
- Montag: 10:00 – 18:00 Uhr
- Dienstag bis Donnerstag: 08:00 – 18:00 Uhr
- Freitag: 08:00 – 14:00 Uhr
- Samstag: 08:00 – 12:00 Uhr (Infotresen nicht besetzt)
Without an appointment in the Wilhelmgalerie, the times are as follows:
- Montag: 10:30 – 16:00 Uhr
- Dienstag bis Donnerstag: 08:15 – 16:00 Uhr
- Freitag: 08:15 – 13:00 Uhr
