New Brandenburg crime thriller on ZDF: A murder case awakens old ghosts!

There is currently a lot of simmering in Brandenburg and Berlin. ZDF is working on a new crime thriller called “Brandenburgkrimi – Irrwege”, which is already causing a lot of excitement. Filming is in full swing and promises exciting insights into the dark side of the country, starting with a mysterious murder case that is haunting the investigators. The focus is on prosecutor Dena Paulos, played by Dennenesch Zoudé, and chief detective Max Zeller, played by Jens Atzorn.

Even in idyllic Brandenburg, where the Havel flows peacefully, evil has taken hold. The plot revolves around the body of student Yvonne Winkler, which is discovered on the banks of the Havel in Potsdam. What initially appears to be an accident - the cause of death is determined to be drowning - turns out to be an elaborate crime as a head injury is discovered that raises questions. Dena Paulos draws parallels to a case that closed five years ago and the traces of Fabian Brenner (Daniel Sträßer), a lecturer at the University of the Dead, which Yvonne had as a student assistant.

Investigators and entanglements

The other roles bring additional dynamics to the story. The trainee public prosecutor Jasna Nowak, played by Linda Podszus, and the forensic doctor Sanne Plaussner, played by Nadja Engel, complete the team. Bineta Hansen, Alessandro Schuster, Konstantin Lindhorst and Katy Karrenbauer will also play a role in this gripping crime thriller. The creative team behind the camera consists of producers Lasse Scharpen and Pauleena Liccini as well as the screenwriters Anne Katrin Mascher and Krystof Hybl, supported by Sabine Bernardi, who also directs. ZDF editor Matthias Pfeifer ensures that everything runs smoothly.

Interestingly, this crime thriller is not the only one being performed in Brandenburg this year. The pilot film “The Raaben and the Dead Girl” from the ARD crime film series also deals with gripping crimes. Here the siblings Tonja and Anton Raabe investigate their first case together, the murder of a young woman and the kidnapping of a small child in the deciduous forest of Lusatia. The protagonist, played by Alina Stiegler, brings her synesthetic abilities into play to bring the child back unharmed.
