Potsdam elects: Who will be the new city leader? All candidates at a glance!
Today, September 21, 2025, the voters of Potsdam are faced with an important decision: they are electing a new city leader. The election, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., is a direct reaction to the voting out of Mike Schubert (SPD) in May of this year. Around 143,000 eligible voters who are at least 16 years old and have their main residence in Potsdam are called upon to cast their vote. maz-online.de
If there is no absolute majority in the first round of voting, a runoff election between the two best-placed candidates will be necessary on October 12, 2025.
