Volleyball anticipation: SC Potsdam III remains undefeated in the league race!
Next Saturday, SC Potsdam III will play an exciting volleyball game against USV Halle Volleys II. The match will take place in the Neue Halle at the Luftschiffhafen and will kick off at 6:00 p.m. The Berlin team has already won five wins from five games and will certainly give everything to maintain this impressive record, as SC Potsdam reports.
But that's not all that everyday club life in Potsdam has to offer. SC Potsdam is not only active in volleyball, but also in floorball, where four of the club's talents recently shone at U national team courses. Leonie Schubert, Romy Gottschalkson and Felina Weber trained with the U19 women's national team in Mülheim an der Ruhr, while Malte Weber represented the U17 national team in Dessau.
Diversity in sports offerings
SC Potsdam also has something new to offer in the area of rhythmic gymnastics: from November 7th, girls between the ages of six and ten can register for a new gymnastics course. The course takes place on Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the gymnasium of the elementary school at Pappelhain and is led by Anika Pommerening. Free trial training is also possible – a great opportunity to try out the sport.
In men's volleyball, SC Potsdam also has an important game ahead of them in the Third League North. This is against the Chemie Volleys, who are currently leading the table. SC Potsdam is currently in eighth place, but will do everything it can to improve with a strong performance in the Jahrhunderthalle and to delight the spectators.
Popular sports and membership growth
SC Potsdam also invites you to its San Pepelone surf camp, which will take place in Salzhaff from August 14th to 21st, 2026. There, participants can take part in surfing courses and leisure activities and enjoy the sun and waves, while professional surf instructors ensure safety and individual support.
These activities and more reflect the growing popularity of the sport as a whole. According to the Volleyball Association, volleyball is seeing increasing membership numbers again. An increase of 26,228 members was reported in 2024, an increase of 6.4% compared to the previous year. In total there are now 436,348 active volleyball members in Germany, a pleasing development that can be attributed to the positive work of the clubs and the enthusiasm for the sport.
At a time when many sports are facing challenges, volleyball is on the rise. SC Potsdam is an important part of this trend and offers its members numerous opportunities to do sports and be part of a lively community. It remains to be hoped that this positive development will continue and that many more people will be infected by the fascination of volleyball.
