Harvest festival in Güstow: tradition, tractors and thousands of visitors await!

In Güstow, a charming town not far from Prenzlau, the traditional harvest festival will be celebrated from August 22nd to 24th, 2025. Created by the Güstow Cultural and Sports Association, this festival was launched decades ago and has since established itself as an indispensable part of local culture. Felix Teichner, the club boss and local mayor, emphasizes that the festival is supported by around 40 helpers, friends and local farmers. After the great success of the tractor trek in May, which attracted thousands of visitors and recorded record numbers, expectations are high for the upcoming event.

The harvest festival itself starts with a celebratory start on August 22nd at 7 p.m., before guests are treated to hearty dishes such as pea stew from the goulash cannon on August 23rd from 12 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. a colorful parade will lead through the village. Highlights of the afternoon include a cultural program with harvest demonstrations starting at 2:30 p.m. and a dance evening in the marquee from 8 p.m. On the last day of the festival, August 24th, the organizers expect visitors from 10 a.m. to a large flea market and a musical morning pint. Despite the high number of visitors that are expected again this year, the weather forecast remains a big question mark.

Tractor trek as a new highlight

The tractor trek has only been an integral part of the Güstow events since 2023. This year, the third edition of the agricultural machinery competition attracted thousands of spectators. The event not only shows the impressive machines, but also the great commitment of the local community. Teichner emphasizes the challenges involved in preparing such events and that the decades-long tradition of the harvest festival plays a key role in the lives of the villagers.

A look beyond the borders

There is good news in the world of sports: the Milwaukee Brewers recently recorded their tenth consecutive victory. In the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, played in front of an enthusiastic crowd at American Family Field, the Brewers went an impressive 7-1. Players like Christian Yelich, who recently hit his 22nd home run of the season, have contributed significantly to this winning streak. Since May 25, the Brewers have had an impressive record and are now 30 games above the .500 mark. This not only shows the strength of the team, but also the fighting spirit with which they strive for big goals.

Whether in Güstow with the harvest festival or with the Milwaukee Brewers - the local community and the passion for traditions and sport bring people together. And that is what makes life so colorful and diverse.
