Patience is required: construction site chaos causes traffic problems in MV!

On October 31, 2025, patience is required in northeast Germany. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the neighboring regions of Prignitz and Uckermark, there are significant traffic disruptions due to numerous construction sites. The current construction site overview shows a colorful mix of motorways, federal and state roads, where drivers have to prepare for diversions and restrictions. The ADAC also provides an overview, providing real-time information about the traffic situation on the network.

There's a lot going on, especially on the motorway network. The road on the A24 between Wittenburg and Gudow will be repaired from November 2nd to 10th. A total of 11.1 km are affected here, although the passage width is only 6.5 m. Several renovation works are also underway on the A20: work on the road between Kröpelin and Sellin See will take place from October to December. More than 5 km are affected here, the passage width is 3.8 m.

Construction site overview in detail

The highway construction sites are only part of the problem. The extensive list shows more than 20 construction sites on federal and state roads, with the B5 in Plattenburg and the B103 between Birkenfelde and Falkenhagen particularly likely to force drivers to take detours. Many routes are completely closed until the end of next month. For example, the B194 from Stavenhagen to Basepohl from October 7th to November 7th, where a total closure of 1.4 km must be expected.

In addition, several state roads are also affected, including the L01 between Hohenkirchen and Proseken, which will be completely closed from October 20th to December 1st. While this extensive work is necessary to keep the roads in good condition, it makes traffic all the more challenging.

Traffic forecasts and real-time information

In order to be able to plan travel times, the ADAC offers its... ADAC Maps a helpful overview. The real-time traffic flow data helps to proactively avoid disruptions. Drivers can rely on the fact that current construction sites and dangerous situations such as aquaplaning or slippery snow are displayed along the planned route. This can be particularly advantageous for long-term route planning.

Traffic levels are expected to increase over the next few weeks and it is recommended to allow sufficient time for travel. As a result of the extensive construction work, there may be further changes to the schedule due to weather or unforeseen events.

However, the effort is worth it: a well-developed road network helps ensure that traffic remains future-proof. Anyone who has the patience will benefit from higher quality roads in the future when the construction sites are finally completed. Stay informed and drive safely!
