On September 6, 2025, the region around Wittenberge will again be under flood alarm. Although the current water level of the Elbe near Wittenberge has not yet been stated, the past few weeks have caused concern with rising levels. Martin Ferch, a spokesman for the city, called on the population to heed the authorities' advice. You should also avoid onlookers and unnecessary crowds. In Brandenburg there are clearly defined flood warning levels, starting with alert level 1, which indicates small outbursts, up to alert level 4 for very large floods that flood larger areas.
