Medieval sensation: Plattenburg is transformed into a spectacle!

The Middle Ages will come to life next week when the big spectacle takes place at Plattenburg, Northern Germany's oldest preserved moated castle. On June 21 and 22, 2025, visitors can expect a weekend full of exciting activities that appeal to both young and old. Organized by the Prignitz Tourism Association in cooperation with the municipality of Plattenburg, the hustle and bustle begins on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

A varied program captivates guests on three stages and in the Burgplatz. The knight tournaments and a puppet show are of course at the top of the list. If you would like to get active, you can try out children's blacksmithing, archery or traditional circle dances around the maypole. In the evening, a tavern game with music, juggling and acrobatics in the castle courtyard provides additional entertainment. An unforgettable fire spectacle in the castle courtyard rounds off the eventful day.[ Northern Courier ]
