At around 11 a.m., a 70-year-old Skoda driver noticed a worrying deviation from the road while driving in a right-hand bend. For reasons that are still unclear, he crossed into oncoming traffic, which led to a collision with an oncoming Suzuki Northern Courier reported.
The force of the impact was significant. As a result of the collision, the Suzuki was thrown into the oncoming lane and collided with a VW driving behind the Skoda, whose 48-year-old driver sustained serious injuries in the incident. Together with the 65-year-old Suzuki driver and two other passengers in the VW, who were only slightly injured, all those involved in the accident come from Saxony.
