The cultural heritage and nostalgia of the GDR live on in more and more cities - including in Prignitz, where the big Simson meeting will take place on June 21st and 22nd, 2025. A weekend full of joyful encounters and exciting competitions awaits participants in a colorful setting. The event not only attracts die-hard moped fans, but also everyone who is interested in the history of these iconic vehicles. MAZ Online reports that there will be a meeting point at the Total gas station on Parkstrasse in Wittenberge. The participants meet here on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The fascination for the well-known Simson models is no longer limited to the moped community. In keeping with the occasion, there is the opportunity to camp on the site in Burow near Pirow, which is a welcome option, especially for participants who have traveled from a distance. Admission to the event is free, so everyone shouldn't miss the opportunity.
Fast-paced competition and an exuberant atmosphere
At the heart of the meeting are various competitions that perfectly combine the mixture of enthusiasm for technology and fun. Participants can compete in different vehicle classes - from mopeds to 50 cc originals to the open class - and take part in a drag race. DJ Paul Fröhlich provides the musical accompaniment on Saturday, while on Sundays the Grabow brass band heats up the atmosphere from 11 a.m. Radio Zwickau also reports on the special activities planned for the anniversary celebration, including the creation of a moped museum and the opportunity to be lifted to an impressive 70 meter height by crane.
